Marty and Doc seeing their doubles which would not happen.
Right. In the future they would have seen their faces on missing people flyer archives saying they've not been seen for 30 years. Biff was the last witness who saw them alive as he watched them in a DeLorean vanish into the sky on they day of Oct 21, 1985 at the McFly residence.

I don’t think it’s that bad, it feels more comedic than the first one and lighthearted, but it’s still entertaining and does a good job at expanding the storyline with alternate timelines and points of view during the events of the first film,

Biff used the sports almanac from the future to bet on sporting events and become the richest and most powerful man on the planet. Because Biff was a bad person the world he created with his power was dark and corrupt.

They showed future mid aged Marty talking to others on a big screen TV like we do with Zoom or Skype.
They still used fax machines which were multiple and installed in walls through the house.
The main two things that get talked about are everyday products.
Teenage Marty had shoes that could tighten themselves automatically without needing to tie them.
A shoe company sorta tried them but as you can tell they did not catch on.
He rode on a hoverboard which was a floating skateboard without wheels.
One was made more as an experiment than a prototype that could only float above a small copper surface and did not go as fast as the one in the movie.

I don't think any "futuristic" movie from the 80's on back ever came close to predicting the Internet, and how it would be such a huge part of everyday life for most people. Same thing with cell phones.

Since backwards time travel is impossible, any movie about time travel is an exercise in futility. However, the whole
Back to The Future
trilogy was great imho.
