Because it is a movie and what we do.
Also I rewatched it last night and this thought came to me.
Even if we disagree I at least appreciate that we are talking about movies at all which is rare on here instead of the drama crap which needs to be more rare.
I stay out of it though because it doesn't interest me and I cannot keep up with what said to whom or what this person means etc.

Two things;
Works for the story of the movie.
Was so wrapped up in his small interpersonal relationships that challenging them was too far a step for someone who is, ultimately, a coward.
I blame his grandmother

He killed Marty's dad just to get Lorraine.
Not because he loved her but just to fulfill his ego since he did not like it she rejected him before and since "dad" punched his lights out.

I think we all know that the best outcome of any of this Warren is your mother-in-law versus Biff's nana
