I would have to look up and think about what other actors were around who could have worn the cape but Keaton just does not have the look for Bruce nor the chops for Bats.

It's not that Michael Keaton was miscast, but too much screen time went to Jack Nicholson. Hence, the latter stole the show. It wasn't fair overall.
