I thought it was funny that Geena Davis' character went back with the aliens to their home planet at the end. The changes made to the aliens in the salon won't last forever. Eventually their skin color will return to normal and their hair will grow back.
So Geena Davis will end up stuck on an alien planet, dating a big blue Chewbacca.

This is coming a year and a half later, but I've seen this film a lot since 1988. Her friend specifically tells her before revealing their new look that the hair(s) [follicles] were dead. This means that there is no way the hair is growing back.

Greek women have to put up with men who make chimps look groomed so it's not unheard of for a women to like them furry. Mind you Greek women can be a bit hirsute.
