Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Earth Girls Are Easy

It's gotten fair to good reviews but a (currently) 5.0 IMDb rating, and supposedly flopped in release.
    What are its flaws?

If it's that popular with a certain public, that suggests it could become a cult favorite, We'll see.

How would I fix it? Easy: I'd replace the cartoonish backgrounds of the space scenes with photorealistic CGI. To which someone would reply that "CGI would make it lose its charm". To which, I'd reply that if by "charm" they mean "ugliness", then yes, it would certainly lose it.

I thought the garish, cartoony backgrounds and costumes looked like Saturday morning kids TV.

I gave it a 7. I guess there's only so far you can take that concept It's an '80s movie. No CGI please!!

Easy: More scenes with Julie Brown. The 'Cause I'm a Blonde' sequence was the best scene in the movie. They could have fit in another two or three songs with her.

Ditto no CGI and more musical numbers. Practically Perfect for what it was meant to be. Out of this world funny.
