was something that I didn't very believable. I enjoyed the movie very much but that part kinda took me out of it. I mean an ordinary person most likely will not be able to remember a map, but Indie Sr. not being able to remember the three (rather simple) traps and their (even simpler) solutions seems a bit odd.
And this is a guy who spent most of his life researching the grail. That was the only thing he ever thought about for years. People like that usually know everything about their obsession by heart.
It seemed like a b it of lazy writing to get the duo back to Germany. Maybe the writers should have come up with another reason for that. But these are just my opinions. What do you think?

He's an old man and old men often have poor memories. Even about things that are important to them.
Also, he said the whole reason he wrote Grail information in his diary was so he wouldn't have to remember it. So I guess he didn't even try to memorize it all. -

You've never written down anything to remind yourself?
Ironically a lot of times when I write something down TO remember it is when I don't need it anymore, somehow BY writing it down, I've also committed it to memory. -

When I first saw the movie, I sort of got the impression that he just used it as an excuse to get his diary back. Forty years, after all - he was probably attached to it.
In the end, the scant information about the traps wasn't of much use, anyway.
