Right after the end of the movie, when the credits go up with the song "Let my love open the door". you hear nothing for a good 5 mins.

I guess the editor was just too lazy to put anything at the end.

Or maybe there wasn't supposed to be any more music.
It actually creeps me out though. just pure silence as you watch the rest of the credits.

That silence, combined with the movie's aura of childbirth and babies (which is also freaky), makes for a truly unsettling experience.
Clowns are supposed to make children laugh.

It creeps me out that you sit all the way through the credits in silence sharpening your knife
I really like your car Mrs. Larusso!

LOL! I thought that was an hilarious comment too. Why not just get up and leave or shut down the dvd? You have to wonder why some people make such a big deal out of it.
BTW I thought the soundtrack was great as a whole.

Yeah, I noticed that when I caught the film again on cable. I did see it in the theater, but left as the credits started to run, so I missed the final gag. I don't know why they did that.

Really shows the cheapness of this movie. I first saw this at a theater and thought the silence was somebody turning the sound off, but I later got it on laserdisc and DVD and both of those are silent at the end too. Usually the only times movies use silence over the end credits are "serious" movies that have had something tragic happen in them. A comedy like this ought to have upbeat music up until the very last frame- they should've either re-edited the Pete Townsend song to last the entire length of the credits, or worked in another song or part of the score afterwards.

I guess they couldn't decide what other music to use. I think that would've been an opportunity to use The Beach Boys' I Get Around for the second time.
