The only person who believes Alice right off the bat is of course Dan. But he falls asleep at the wheel and gets killed. Why would he have been so tired that he was falling asleep? He wasn't sleep-deprived, he had just found out from Alice that Freddy was back and he hadn't experienced any new dreams himself.
Same thing with Yvonne, Mark, and Greta. Greta doesn't buy into Alice's story but is so tired she falls asleep at the dinner table? Who does that? Mark sorta believes but he's also so tired that he randomly falls asleep the first time. Yvonne actively believes Alice is insane but of course, she's also sleep-deprived and falls asleep for some reason.
Nobody outside of Alice had any reason to be tired enough to be constantly falling asleep. -

I really can't say too much about Dan as I never quite figured out why he fell asleep so easily. As for Greta, I just assumed she was so stressed out and upset she hadn't been sleeping very well and just happened to doze off for just a second (and apparently that is all it takes). Mark is also a mystery because I assumed she only went to get some tea and he passed out in a matter of minutes haha. When it comes to Yvonne, maybe between constantly diving and swimming, working, and the stress of the deaths of her friends and worry for Alice she was just exhausted.

They still have to fall asleep first.

I think she was asleep when that happened, which is why we see her disappear when she sits down. There is no way she could just vanish like that from reality. Plus when she woke up she was already in the chair, she didn't just appear in it.

He was powerful enough to perhaps not take into injury as much in the dream world and transfer himself from the dream world into reality (where he took over his skeleton body), but not to cause people to disappear when they enter the dream world. I think he would need to be more in control of reality to have that happen and he certainly was capable of that by Freddy's Dead when he killed all the children.
