I saw it unedited on a free HBO weekend! I love it when Mary tries to do the laundry, breaks a nail, pitifully pleads for someone to get the door, then shrieks 'Will somebody please get the GD door!' -And of course when she loses it completely after seeing the photocopy of Bob's ring on his secretary's bum & yells at everyone! -Does anyone else think it's strange that Garcia was dancing so provocatively w/young Nicolette? Was he doing that just to make Mary jealous? She fired him anyway. -I don't think Ruth took Bob back either, I think they became friendly at least for the kid's sake. -I also like the fact that Ruth starts out as passive & plain then becomes independent & stylish. And I really think Bob got what he deserved & seemed to learn from it also.

Loved She-Devil - own the DVD and watch it everytime it's on TV.

The scene with Garcia dancing with Nicolette showed us that Garcia was kind of a pervert, considering Nicolette was just a young girl and they were dancing so provacatively in that one scene. It seemed that Garcia's main function at the mansion was to be Mary's love slave/boytoy and then she basically thew him aside to be with Bob and you could tell that it upset him by the way he acted throughout the movie. He was probably lonely and kind of desperate so he thought he'd give Nicolette a try.

I remember I liked it when it first came out but now that I'm much older and all my children have passed through the teen stage and I KNOW they wouldn't hesitate to lock in a home if ( it cost them nothing) I sympathize with Roseanne's character even more. Yes,it's lovely to be rich and beautiful and even easier when no one disturbs the peace. The point is how quickly Streep turns into a She-devil despite her money with the addition of Roseanne's family. I laughed-a lot.

Yes this movie rocks! Ruth was vengeful, but still helpful as we say when they opened the employment agency. Mrs. Fisher was so funny. "Royal my ass! Her father was a kosher butcher from Hoboken. He was a lovely man." This movie is one of my favorite movies from the 80's. I miss quirky, funny movies like these.

She was definitely pretty evil and vengeful in this moviehowever, that is NOTHING compared to the book and the minisiries.
                  MAJOR SPOILERS
The main plot/point in the miniseries/book was something they left out of the movie: Ruth gets an elaborate, deadly, painful, and highly expensive surgery in order to look
                  exactly
like Mary. In the book, Mary dies of cancer; in the miniseries, she is pushed out the window to her death. In any event, Bob comes back from jail in the end and he thinks Ruth is Mary (she has taken over Mary's life and has become her) and to get the ultimate revenge, she has sex with Garcia right in front of Bob while he's in the room with her. Now THAT is the worst revenge possibleLOL!
Whether it be a grain of sand or a rock, in water they both sink alike.

Yeah it was pretty funny! It's not great but I think it should have atleast a 6.0 on this site.

It is a great movie. I think I can speak on behalf of many when I say the only flaw is the fact that it features Roseanne Barr. I can't take her - not even in small doses - nor do I know anyone who can.
Fortunately, Meryl Streep's hilarious performance easily overshadows hers, making the movie very watchable again and again and again. For that reason alone I can whole-heartedly recommend it.

I love when Bob and Mary are driving up in her car and she opens the mail to find pics of bob's hands on the secretary's ass. Just the way she says "uh, YOU BASTARD!'' and smacks himso funny

I don't care much for Roseanne, but she was perfectly cast for this part.

I just saw it for the first time today on Comedy Central and it's so funny! I love Roseanne and I love how she played this part so perfect. I also loved Meryl Streep in it. I've not seen many movies where she was younger but she was definitely beautiful then, as she is now. I hope to see this again soon.

I love it too! I have seen it many times and I never get sick of it. I was so surprised about the IMDb rating. I think it's one of those things where people never saw it but just judged it based on something random and gave it a bad rating. I thought Roseanna and Meryl Streep did a really great job and were very believable. Oh well..their loss.
                                        I love the Internet.
