Look out for A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia starring Fiennes as T.E. Lawrence. This excellent made-for-TV was made in 1990, predating even Prime Suspect. I cannot recall him in PS, but he plays the part of Lawrence terribly well.

        Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia
showed Fiennes' ability to master difficult foreign languages. I found it intriguing that 2 great American characters in

Seeing Fiennes in a bit role in an early PS1 is a real bonus.

Beg to differ, I thought he performed marvelously in his bit part.

It's always a treat rediscovering a famour actor in a minor early role. i saw this (PS1) when it first aired and had no idea Fiennes was in it until I picked up the DVD set this year.
now I do it just to watch their f-n' expression change.

I watched PS1 again recently for the first time in years, and I had forgotten all about him. When his scene came on, I said, "Holy cow, that's a young Ralph Fiennes!" I thought his performance was very good.

I've only just seen this for the first time, and I have to agree, Acapulqueno.
He was OK, but nothing more. But I thought he came across as inexperienced more than a bad actor.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

I saw him last night in this. He was so very young. I thought he was great in the small role. His face, his eyes showed the emotions flashing through him. Seeds of greatness there.

I just remember he pronounced the victim's name "Kah-ren", while everyone else was calling her "Karen" (as in rhymes with baron). I thought "what's up with this guy and names?" He spells his name "Ralph" with an "L", then pronounces it "Raeph".

Rafe is the tradition British pronunciation of Ralph. That's it.
