Was there ANYONE in 1990 who thought there was even the slightest chance that, just a mere nine years in the future, technology would have advanced far enough that they could build self-operating androids as sophisticated as the ones in this movie, that can interact with people and make their own decisions just like an actual human? Maybe several decades from now it may be possible to build androids that advanced, but in just nine years??? That's like if someone made a film about people having colonized the moon and Mars and had it set just two years in the future. Sorry, but technology doesn't advance THAT fast.
