I think the original Die Hard is technically a better film than this. There's more atmosphere and tension, and McTiernan can tell a better story with the camera than Harlin can. Vernon from the Breakfast Club is hilarious, too.
I prefer this movie to the first because I think the story & setting is more original, but Die Hard is undoubtedly a more skilfully crafted film. -
