What was the ending "about"? You see Tess standing over Logan's bed, and you hear Patrick Channing say "See you around, buddy boy." O.K., does that mean he'll see him if and when he wakes up? In the afterlife?
Or were they just setting the film up for a sequel that never happened?? -

To answer your question, she heard his voice due to the trauma. Logan died with cross drived through his heart. The filmakers added the ending to make it suspensful and make it look like it was headed for a sequel. She heard his voice for the very last time before he departed from earth. Hope this helps!
The movie doesn't need a sequel. It's good enough already.

You mean Channing died with the dagger through the heart? Logan the detective was shot twice but in a critical condition obviously.
If impersonating a Police Officer is an offence, shouldn't actors be imprisoned? -

Tess could forsee the future right
She gets up and Patriks spirit have now taken over Russels body and will attack Tess when she gets up
They couldnt win over the first power

Tess was 'touched by evil' and was feeling the after-effects of her experience with the evil entity. It's kind of like a junkie having flashbacks. When Logan stabbed the nun in the chest with the cross dagger he drove out the demon. End of story

Tess saw the future of what was going to happen to Logan.
Ultimately, when the cops shot Logan it gave Channing a chance to jump int his body, because as stated in the movie, Channing had the power to jump into the bodies of those that were weak and flawed. IE: The alcoholic cop, The Bag Lady, etc..all flawed people.
Logan was flawed because he was a cop for the wrong reasons, to seek revenge for his dead father.
So Logan, in turn, became the final conduit for Channing to jump into at the end, and Tess had foreseen this as Logan lay in critical condition while she sat by his bed.
The bad guy wins.
