At mark 1:46:56 as Jimmy is walking, and waking up his partners in crime in their car (talking the "Come on, ****os, let's go for a ride" scene) and he's walking with Henry, you can see the Koskiosko Bridge and the Empire State Building. But it's clearly a studio prop from Warner Bros., rather than the real building. How did they do it? And why? It doesn't make sense. It wasn't the 1940s (which is what it looked like). It wasn't even the 1950s. The scene was 1978 (if I'm not mistaken, the year Tommy gets killed). They should have just left the Empire State Building. For the most part in 1989/1990, all the buildings that were in Midtown in 1978 were the same as in 1990. Midtown had not changed much from 1978 to 1990. Were there any apparent (that couldn't be hidden in the movie) buildings in that location that were there in 1990 that weren't there in 1978? I don't think so, but can anyone say?
That scene is in southwestern Queens, right by the border with Brooklyn, if I'm not mistaken, likely right next to the LIE.

They could have just shot it, cause Penn 1 which is like just west of the Empire State Building on 33rd Street and 8th Avenue opened in 1970. That scene was 1978. They could have just shot it naturally.

How did they insert the prop anyways? Was that computer generated graphics? Because they shot it the real area.
