How realistic is the coma story ?

Yes we sometime hear about people waking up from long comas but they end up severely disabled, can someone wake up like Segal ? Unlike in F1, two terribly long medically induced comas and none of them recovering at all.

For a normal man it is unrealistic, but Seagal has the spirits of 10,000 Japanese ancestors flowing through his veins.
