I wouldn't say it is scary. Mel Brooks voices the flipping thing and when my sister saw the scene, she couldn't stopp hysterically laughing.

I wasn't creeped out by that. I was more creeped out by the little demon possessing the teddy bear.

I haven't seen this film since I was five, so I'm not a very good judge now. But back then I do remember that scene being very creepy, as well as the possessed teddy bear.
It's like death eatin' a cracker.

This movie has some of the most terrifying crazy beep for a little kid to watch.
I remember being so goddamned scared that Mr. Toilet Man was gonna bite off my weiner if I didn't give him peepee to eat. He wanted that peepee so badly, and with his blue hair/mustache toilet cozy, ro whatever that was, and Mel Brooks oddly menacing nebbish Jew voice screaming how much he NEEDED that peepee you could tell the toilet was fcking unbalanced if not downright insane for the peepee.

I watched this movie yesterday for the first time in years and my two and a half year old son saw the "Mr Toilet Man" bit and laughed his head off!
                      😄

I don't think it would be scary for anyone who could see the humor behind it, but I can understand why a child might be creeped out.

"KawaiiKittyHorror3", Since I posted my question, I watched the scene on "You-Tube." It was not as disturbing as I thought it would be. A little on the silly side. But I'm a 44 year old adult. Chances are, if I saw it as a elementary-school student, it would have frightened me!
                          Cheers!
                          Sincerely,
                          Steve.

Yeah, but is scaring a child just a frickin no-no to everyone or something? The wicked witch has scared the beep out of little kids for years, and they have nightmares about her but they get over it or become afraid of their own shadows because they've been sheltered from it their whole lives, then one day they watch the news on CNN and BAM can't handle the world anymore.
It's not a bad thing to scare kids a little hell, who watched Disney's Mr Boogedy as a kid? Lol, that was Freddy Krugers love child with The Emperor from Jedi!
