What happened?

If I did, it was entirly coincedental. Seriously, what happened? What were they trying to do exactly? I mean Barret Pliver wasn't that old. He could have played Bastian again. Things got seriously twisted.

Your initial post on this thread cracked me up, and is so true. I haven't seen this flick in a long time, but having loved the first one, I'd looked forward to seeing the sequel.
It doesn't quite draw you in like the first, and has so many discrepancies from the original that it doesn't quite work. I do like the ending where Bastian wishes the soreceress/queen/whatever had a heart, and that's how he "wins."
Still, probably wasn't a good idea to make a lackluster sequel to a movie that is so close to the hearts of its fans. -

I kind of find this comment funny, being one of the ignorant americans. Lord of the Rings is actually 3 movies. And it isnt really just one long story either. But since that isnt what this board is about, i just wanted to quote some ignorant foreigner saying something like "Read before making a fool of urselves!"

The fact that we all called this a sequal is pretty irelavent. (sorry if thats misspelled but after all, I am an ignorant american) it doesn't change the fact that the charactors and all of the surroundings were drastically changed and altered. Forget that its a sequal or a continuation, it still ruined the franchise.
Signed,
The Ignorant American. -

And what are we wrong about this time?
You know what I think? I think your mum breast-fed you longer than was appropriate, and now you're getting withdrawal symtoms.

OK, the MOVIE was made to be a SEQUEL to the ORIGINAL movie. I know that both movies were from the same book, but the people here aren't complaining about the book, they're complaining about the second movie in this trilogy, also known as a SEQUEL. So 'scuse us for being "ignorant americans" but it isn't our nationalities that make us ignorant, its that fact that we JUDGE people (that was supposed to be a HINT, but I'm assuming you got that since you're not one of us "ignorant americans").
And by the way, I totally agree that the second movie (cough cough sequel cough cough) was so much worse than the first. The thing that bugs me the most about it is Falkor's eyes. In the first movie they were pretty brown, like a puppy's eyes. In the second they were blood red. Is Falkor supposed to be evil or something?
There are no happy endings, because nothing ever ends. -

just like Lord of the Rings it was such a long story that they
divided it in 2 movies.
Dude, the proof is in the pudding. We all make mistakes (2 is right next to 3 on the keyboard), just admit it and move on.
Back on track, I guess I'm the only one who actually likes the sequel. It is no where near as good as the original, but I still love to watch it. Maybe it's Nimbly?

Ok, I was wrong. There, happy now? You have to admit that your wording was a little off. I guess all of us "Ignorant Americans" thought you were using Lord of the Rings as an example, and we were simply mistaken.
BTW, I am a 37 yr. old smartass kid. I take no offense, bro, just don't fly off the handles at everyone.
I am done with all of the IMDB forums. When you have 5 year olds and people just wanting to start flame wars posting, that's going a little too far. Not to mention being insulted because I'm an American. There are some really thought-provoking questions and comments from some users, but I just get feed up with all the "bad and mean" threads much like this one has turned into. They far out-weigh the good threads.
Maybe if they moderated these threads somewhat, there would be less of a problem.
