yeah, then maybe "The Passion Of Darkly Noon" also would be released on dvd. Its the same director who did "The Reflecting Skin" (and Viggo Mortensen stars in both), Philip Ridley. A real talented guy! does anyone know what he is doing now?

Here you go This is the copy I ordered. It's widescreen and all. It's the only one you'll ever need, until it is released R1 (this one is R2 - but if you have a multi-player, problem solved). -

God willing.
Go to suggestions@criterion.com and ask them to work on the Apu trilogy and Sholay. -

I wish. A woman I work with has developed a Viggo crush after seeing
Eastern Promises
(mainly due to the nude scene), and I'd love to loan her a copy of
Reflecting Skin
on DVD ("see? I've seen his butt before!"). Oh well, maybe in the near future
Where can I get these:

Don't know if anyone is still checking for this answer, but:
Yes, both REFLECTING SKIN and PASSION OF DARKLY NOON are available in the US. You can get a VHS tape of PASSION from Movies Unlimited in Pennsylvania. Try MoviesUnlimited.com or call 1-800-4-Movies. The code number is 18-7720 and the tape is $14.99 plus shipping.
REFLECTING SKIN can be obtained from Mike at antisoshul.com for $13.00 (and a little) plus shipping. This is on DVD. Check out Mike's site for details. -

I know through an extremely good source, that this film is not officially available on DVD, the writer director is working towards it but not yet. It may well be released after his next film is made though.

You can buy "The Passion of Darkly Noon" from Japan on DVD.
Either from amazon.com or HMV.com(follow the links). You may have to do a actor name search or look at the pictures to find it though since a lot of stuff is written in Japanese. I bought it but didn't like the movie. I'm still looking for "The Reflecting Skin" on DVD and went to anchorbay.com to suggest they make one. -

there is no DVD of The Reflecting Skin as far as i know anywhere in the world, the one referred to in the link is a bootleg.
there was a french DVD of Darkly Noon but its OOP Out Of Print. i have been after it for awhile. it is widescreen and there is a directors audio commentary on it which i would LOVE to hear. i have not heard of a Japanese DVD of DN, if it has the commentary i will try to track it down.
Ridley has went on to a very successful career in writing childrens books (though pretty twisted, i highly recommend Kasper In The Glitter, its brilliant) and Ridley has also written plays, versions have toured the US as well.
as for Ridleys next film, i dont think there is anything planned. im pretty surprised there hasnt been a DVD release in the UK. -

You can get "Reflecting Skin" on DVD from Japan. Region 2. NTSC. Anamorphic.
"Passion of Darkly Noon" is also on DVD in Japan, but it's pan-and-scan.
The original was 2.35:1 according to IMDB, so you lose 43.4% of the image.
One or both discs may be out of print. They will probably cost dearly.
There are companies in the USA that rent foreign region DVDs by mail. -

The Japanese VHS edition is also widescreen, and you don't have to worry about regions Tho' obviously the DVD is better

i think this is the best pre-lotr movie viggo was in (another being sean penn's "the indian summer") he really hasn't been in much of anything good a lot of b movies. he's career's really only starting now in his 40s with a fine performance in "a history of violence". i would like to see this film on dvd. it's not everybody. not even the weird stuff really (it's not THAT much like david lynch's work. everyone says that. david lynch doesn't have a monopoly on "weird" and "artsy") but i think that the film would be considered to melodramatic and over the top for some. it works for me but it might not for others.

If there are enough people who sign up for this dvd they may release it in
the US.
