A lot of people may disagree, but I can't stand Dana. I found her boring, annoying, rude and ugly. In the later seasons it was even worse. She looked terrible and was so boring. That ugly bleached blonde hair and eyebrows!

I liked her and found her more dimensional then the other girls. Dana was more than just the "smart" one out of the girls unlike the other girls in the beginning of the series. Alicia was just the rude tomboy while Karen was the shallow popular one, I know this changed eventually but Dana was always more than one dimensional

I didn't think she was ugly. But I agree with you about the hair. A bad dye job that looks as if she did it herself. The Dana character was not my favorite. She had her moments, but I do agree that she was not exactly annoying, but rude.

I kind of liked Dana actually, because I can relate to these "smart girl" characters. But I won't deny that she too had her flaws (she was often a straw feminist and/or a snob). Then again, who wants a character with
no
flaws?
Intelligence and purity. -

There's at least one line in a later episode making fun of her hair color from Jean Luc
He was like, "one in every color brown [Karen].. butterscotch [Al]. what would you call that color [Dana]" -

Kinda agree with you. I didn't like her in the earlier seasons for some of the same reasons you pointed out. But in the last few seasons when she started dressing up with dresses/skirts I could kinda overlook her attitude. I still liked her when she started dating JT's friend and would boss him around. Thought she was sexy as hell because she was smart an probably because she was so assertive. I even found her more pretty and attractive than Karen by the last few seasons. Kinda attracted to women like Dana, now as an adult and have been dating. Okay, too much info. Sorry lol

Dana was my favorite, but I'm rewtching the episodes and in some of them she is just a jerk to people. I don't mean a fight with JT either. I mean when she'd get mad at Frank for tryin to protect her or being rude to Brendan because something he did lead to their privledged getting taken away and he was just the latest in a long line those privlidges got taken because of stuff all of them did. Sometimes the things she did were just rude. However, she's still my favorite nad sitll love her. The actress was great and I love her and JT's constant bickering. THey are entertaining to watch togheter. So I need to disagree. Dana and JT are why I watched this show and that's still how it is all these years later. But yes, she can be quite rude and snobby sometimes.

Right, not pompous at all then. -

I agree. I'm in the middle of Season 3 (watching for the first time).
Although I understand the character type, and it's been used on others shows without being a problem for me, there's something about Dana that bothers me. -
