I do remember reading (I think it was a video promo catalog that they gave out to retailers) back when 3 and 4 came out straight to video that New Line was preparing a 5th Critters film. The story line they mentioned involved the Critters being mistakenly shipped in sporting goods boxes to a baseball stadium (I think it was Japan) where they wrecked havoc during a crowded baseball game. Of course the film was never made but I thought this might be of some interest to some people.
Let me know if anyone else remembers this back in the day. -

hi the weird thing is i am sure i have actually seen this film in the video shop a few years ago and my cousin thinks the same. i was certain there was a Critters 5. i have searched on the internet and i cant find anything. if anyone else knows anything please let me know? x x x

There was no Critters 5 made. One was planned if the gamble of shooting 3 and 4 consecutively paid off. However, 3 bombed and 4 did even worse (I still think 4 is better than 3 tho heh).Plans for a fifth were iced. So none was ever made. The guy thinking there was a fifth might be thinking of the Ghoulies series, seeing as there were like five hundred of those

I read about a 5-disc DVD boxset in some country that footage that was shot for Critters 5 (never completed). Can't really find anything else on it, though. Maybe it was total BS?

I have to agree with you on that drhackenstine about the four movies of Ghoulies and Critters as well. If they made a 5th Critters more than likely they would have to make a 5th Ghoulies you know.
Do you think that would happen though since it has not been touched in quite a while? They would more than likely create something new and different with another storyline to the other Ghoulies if they did that.

What I heard for Critters 5 was they were back in Grover Bend and it happen
during Christmas and Charlie saves the day that's what I heard after 3-4 did not
do so good it was scrapped all the studio asked for was Charlie picture and now
that NewLine is no more expect for there lego the only way for a Critters film
to be made is if everybody who loved the Critters Franchise asked for more
also rumor has it that they might remake the original but it is a rumor talk
to you later and don't give up your hopes for 5-6 -

Well in the odd event they ever do make another Critters I hope they keep the classic style of special effects in it and NOT make CGI critters! I loved the puppetry and style the Chiodo Bros. brought to these creatures. That's part of what gave them their charm!

I would absolutely love to see a Critters 5. Unfortunately, I can see there being a remake before I can ever see there being a sequel. But, anything's possible. I have been wrong before.
