Carlos Death Scene too Difficult to Watch

Freddy as the Witch of the East was COOL I don't care what ppl say.
2 of my all time favorite villains rolled into ONE being right there was exciting for me!!!
And Freddy always reminded me of a Witch anyway, so there you go lol

There is no "in some ways" about it, Freddy IS much more cruel in the later films than in the earlier, I dont think that is degradated by the comedy, in fact it makes him sicker.
This is why I've always felt more uneasy watching the later films than the earlier ones.
The early films were just SCARY in the traditional meaning of the word, the later films were SICK.

Well, the later films lost and even sacrificed real scariness for attempts at weirdness. One feels that the later films were just trying so desperately to be as weird/unique/surreal as possible, and flailing miserably in the attempt, because what is supposed to be a scary horror film just appears to be completely ridiculous - not scary at all, not interesting at all. Just a yawn. That's just my opinion. With Freddy's Dead, I couldn't believe it had gotten so bad. It's just a laughable movie.
The first Nightmare on Elm Street was legitimately frightening, I remember being home alone at night as a kid in the 80s and watching it for the first time and it scared me to death.

Watching Carlos' death scene now on blu-ray and I find it hilarious. When I watched it in theaters back in 1991 the audience were squirming in their seats,especially when Freddy scratched his claws on that chalkboard, it was so loud lol!

Well that's just the kind of low down bastard Freddy is, we were never supposed to like him. He IS a bully, plain and simple and he exploits weakness.
Part is is accused of being the silliest BUT I think it has some of the most disturbing death scenes ever.

Freddy is a horrible person. You arent supposed to like anything he does.
Having said that, his taunting in this particular film makes little sense. He's too darn whimsical and its one of many things that went wrong.
Wes Cravens New Nightmare brought the franchise back on track.
Then it died for 9 years. -

This movie had some of the cruelest scenes ever in it that were particulary mean toward ppl with serious issues. I thought the scene with Freddy making Tracie relive her dad raping her was very disturbing, which is why I don't get why I don't see this movie as SOO comical like most ppl do. Yeah it had comedy in it, but that doesn't change the sick scenes.

I'm with you McQueenMadden, Way to hard for me to watch, I have to FF this scene or jump to the next scene everytime.
Id rather be shot or hung then go through what Carlos had to endure throughout that whole sequence.
Just the thought of an ear ache bothers me, let alone thinking of someone sticking a Long Que tip through my head, causing me to go Deaf.

I understand that this NOES Movie needed a gruesome Death, because I thought the others in this film were very Lame, but I would still put this Death of Carlos on top and above the rest from every other season and in every category, it was Pure Horror, Sadistic, sick, there was some blood involved, Torture, there was antagonization and Vile in how much Carlos had to deal with as compared to some other Deaths in the other sequels. As if the Physical pain Carlos had to go through was not enough, Freddy also Mocked him when he couldn't hear anything and antagonized the poor kid as well.
As Bad as Glens Death or say Marks in 5 was that their Physical Death did not seem as though it lasted nearly as long as that of Carlos. I would say Phillips in 3, Dans in 5, Debbies 4, Shielas 4, Rons 2 and Grettas 5 were all Deaths which could come close to Carlos Death in the category of most Sadistic and vile and Prolonged Deaths. All their Death scenes didn't exactly just last a couple minutes or few seconds either, like Wills from 3, Kincaids 4, even Nancy's in 3, and so on. Id rather get Freddys Claw to my chest than have my Death be dragged out like the above Deaths I listed.
The reason I separate Carlos from everyone else, and Shiela to an extent was because both had Physical Disabilities or medical conditions which Freddy actually used to Kill them. To me, that's very vile. -

Actually, come to think of it, it would have been interesting had Carlos had some fascination with Roller Coasters and rides at either an Amusement Park or Carnival, since the group went to the Springwood Fair. If someone was to die at the Springwood Fair, Freddy should have appeared as a Ride operator and messed with Carlos Ride. That would have been something to add since all we were treated to was Tom and Roseanne Arnold.
