Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Freddy's Dead

It's one of those movies that I know is bad but I still like it for a few reasons. I just really liked the atmosphere or the surreal feeling of the dreams or even of Springwood. I also liked the characters in this one too, to me I thought that the disturbed teens we're much more relatable than the hip saved by the Bell type kids from 4 and 5.
I don't think I really liked how Freddy was shown to have a wife and daughter at earlier in his life but Freddy did have some cool scenes in this one like how he listed all the times he was "killed" in the past while cutting off his fingers.
Of course, Freddy's final death was pretty lame compared to his death in the others especially 3 and even 4. I know it's not a classic but I reached it the other day and still enjoyed it quite a bit, maybe out of some weird sense of nostalgia.
Not the best of the series but I still liked it more than 5, maybe even 2 and 4, but definitely more than the 2010 reboot.

This is one of my favorites from the franchise and this isn't bad at all. From the sounds of it you don't actually think it's bad.I agree the kids in this we're more realistic than 4 & 5.This film is a real high-light.

I think it's a pretty fun movie. Of course it isn't the best of the series but also not the worst. It's pretty entertaining and I have a good time watching it.

I have always loved it. Never thought it was bad. I saw it the day it came out and was very happy with it.
