it was to show that Harley was a ladies man and could get any women he wanted. Probably a part that was added into the script at Micky Rourkes request as he was once known (believe it or not) as a sex symbol.

Fallen? The beginning was a showcase, so the viewer could see firsthand what a badass Harley really was. Dude left in the middle of the night without saying a word, and that hot naked chick was left wanting more.

Who says it was a one night stand? He's a lone wolf, travels with the clothes on his back. In stories like that(usually Westerns), the woman always knows that one day he's going to walk out that door and never look back. Shen just holds onto him as long as she can. It's been a plot device forever
