I caught this opening day in 1991. There were about five other people in the theater. It's a fun flick that wears it's dumb heart proudly on it's sleeve, nothing wrong with that!! Mickey kicks ass in ANYTHING!! ALWAYS HAS, ALWAYS WILL!!

Wow I'm at a loss for words. I looked at the comment section to see if ANYONE liked it. This movie was tremendously bad. I joked on the review for "Get Shorty" that it was competing for this movie as the worst movie (at least that I've seen) in the last 20 years. I think I understand why Hollywood makes so many crappy movies now. Thanks to you all for inspiring films like "Charlies Angels 2 - Full Throttle".

Er,
That's the beauty of this film and films like it, that you don't need to think. I don't know about you, but I think all day and when I plug in a movie, I don't necessarily want to have to think. In fact, the less thinking I am forced to do, the better to just unwind. If I want to think, I will watch something like The Pianist, or read a book. Brainless fun movies go a long way towards relaxing.
It's comments like this that irritate me. Movies are for entertaining, not thinking. -

I saw this movie for the first time 2 weekends ago. I swear i heard the Heavenly Host calling out Halleujah! This movie instantly jumped up to my top ten best movies of all time. you do not watch this film to see something world-shattering, you watch it to have a great time. Great music, great action, great laughs.

I am just so excited to see that other people like this movie. I saw it back in college, and all of my colleagues treated me like I was an idiot. Then I bought it awhile ago and watched it with my wife, and now SHE treats me like an idiot!
I guess we're all idiots! But hey, the Boston Red Sox manager called his players idiots in 2004, and we all saw what happened. -

this is a great movie, its in my top 5, i once went out and played pool reciting the "rules of pool" never make a bet if you can't pay the debt etc and it was so funny also i like the intro to the film, mickey leaving a sexy girl naked on the bed with a saddlebag over his shoulder, getting on his harley chopper and just roaring off! all to the sound of bon jovi wanted day or alive, my ex-girlfriend thought i was weird and didnt get the film i guess its a mans film

One of my favourite films of the 90's and one of the best 'buddy' films ever made. The message of being there for your friends is a powerful one and these two sticking their middle finger up at the 'establishment' is fine to see.
A great supporting performance from Tom Sizemore. Always great value for money as could be seen that same year in Point Break.
Don Johnson's words of wisdom from his 'old man' are still quoted around pool tables whenever i meet up with childhood friends. Oh well, it's better to be dead and cool, than alive and uncool. -

I do not know how many times I have seen this movie. I always enjoy this movie every time I see it. True, it is not the best story, but it had all the things to make it one of my favorites. Don Johnson was hot in the jeans. Mickey well was Mickey. And Tom Sizemore looked great. The soundtrack was great! There was not a dull moment in the movie. Just hated when the end credits started to roll.

This Movie has to be one of the best movies ever made it has everything. And at the heart is the relationship between harley and marlboro. With out the great performances of the two leads this movie would have been nothing. This is one of my all time favorate movies and I all ways tell my friends that this is the greatest movie evermade and always lend them a copy to which they reply how suprised they were and how good it was. Forget all this CGI nonsense this sort of old school movie that has great characters at the heart with a good old fashioned buddy / action adventure story will keep audiences entertained. I for one will be watching this for many many more years to come but won't be watching some no heart big budget cgi fest.
It amazes me that after 15years this movie like point break can still entertain with out being dated. If only they made a sequel. But we can dream. -

YES, THIS MOVIE STILL ROCKS!!
its a old school classic action movie, with equal amount of action,drama, and comedy.
plus if you notice, theres this underlying message about corporate greed taking over the old ways of american mens values. such as harley davdisons, Marlboros, Jim Beams, Jack Daniels, and all the other character names.

I saw that movie when in was first released in the movies , I was around 15 years old then and I liked it quite a bit. Havent watched it since then , but I think I will still like it if I do. Nevertheless I think it worths your time if youre into action

It is just so much fun, nothing to be ashamed of, Mickey!
So it isn't hard hitting or Sundance-award winning, but it engages the audience in a free spirited, far too short fling of fun!
And should you have me choose between an honestly GOOD Sundance baby (truly, how many are there?) and a fun movie, like this one, I would have no problem singling out the latter for "rewatchability".
Sure, I'll give "critic's choice" movies money once, maybe twice when they're in theaters (if they are good), but a fun movie I will h~e~a~v~i~l~y support, round up all my friends and drag them to, then buy and have a party with!
Sundance movies make you say, that looked nice, or he's a great director, etc. etc.
But fun movies, they make you happy. They make you laugh and really feel like you aren't spending your free time engaged in an unpaid extra job as an "art" critic, but enjoying yourself.
And how many times can you truly look at a motion picture and say, it's not trying to IMPRESS me, but ENTERTAIN me (nowadays)?
This is not a movie where you have to get caught up in subtleties, or take a pill to be able to stomach the "reality" or the "pioneering" camera work, but you can just let yourself relax, and be taken on a ride, an enjoyable, carefree ride with Harley and Marlboro!
SO I have strange tastes, at least I live!

The first time I saw this movie, I'd say late 90's, I loved it and I didn't quite understand why. Now, My knowledge of movies has grown and this movie has become a milestone in my life as it was one of the movies that made me become a fanatic. My best friend and I use quotes from this movie all the time, and none of our other friends understand. We don't recommended this movie to them either, cause they wouldn't understand. But I do, as does my best friend. This movie was a blast.

I loved this flick ever since I saw it 10+ years ago.
Now, I don't like "trashy" movies of any kind. You know the type, cheapo, uninspired, poorly written formula pics they air on TBS or USA network at 2AM, and that is the group that I always hear people lumping HDatMM into. They couldn't possibly be further off-base.
This movie is an homage to every great western and action flick ever made. Its like a love letter to a certain breed of American cinema. It does for the drifter-hero genre what Jackie Brown did for Blaxploitation movies. If you're not keen on those kinds of movies, then this one will not be to your taste. However, taken in the way the filmakers intended, this is a damn good picture. It's reasonably well made, has a great cast of actors who all perform admirably, and features clever dialog that surpasses Tarantino's at times.
Compared to flicks like "The Wild Bunch" or "Gone With the Wind" Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man might come up a little short. But hold it up to something like the Lethal Weapon series, and I can't see how so many people could call it a lump of $hit.
