Where are John and Michael?

According to the book Peter Pan Michael grew up to become and engine driver while John became a man of business. They both forget Neverland entirely, as do the original Lost Boys who were adopted by the Darlings. The saddest single line I've ever read in a book is, "The bearded man who knows no story to tell his children was once John." Wendy is the only who to retain any memory of their adventures and even hers are foggy at times.
I assume that by the events of Hook all of the brothers (both natural and adopted) had passed away, except for Toodles.

I always assumed they were dead. Granny Wendy is in her 90s, and her brothers would be in their 80s if they were alive. Also, the book described John growing up as a businessman who "couldn't even think of stories to tell his children" and Michael as an equally boring and normal person. So I don't think they'd have added much.

i do like the idea of john and michael growing up and fighting in the war with one of them dying. it seems quite an end to a short life that so quickly forgot neverland. much like the state of childhood that doesn't last long

One of the real brothers, on whom the story is based on, actually died in the first World War and another died shortly after the war was finished by drowning and the original Peter killed himself in 1960. It's all so tragic that one would rather it was made up.
You fight like a younger man, with nothing held back. Admirable but mistaken. -

The movie doesn't mention them at all when they are going over how Wendy and Peter eventually stopped returning to Neverland, which leads me to believe that they stopped going long before Wendy did. The only direct mention in the movie appears to be referring to the time period the original stories take place in. I think they "grew" out of Neverland relatively shortly after those original adventures, but despite being older Wendy's love of Peter kept her going until she wasn't physically able.
I don't think the difference in their age would have affected things at all. I believe by being a woman she had a few extra years on average anyway. If she continued going to Neverland until she was in what appeared to be her late 50s, and John and Michael stopped before they even turned 20, it's reasonable to assume that just the sheer amount of time spent there alone might at least even out there ages. I also think it's possible that Wendy actually took off a few years when her imagination was still plentiful, as I don't believe the anti-aging to be as simple as it is sometimes presented, and rather a side affect of a world that boosts all imagination to levels capable of affecting reality. The affects of this anti-aging and the forgetfulness of Neverland seem to be linked, so the fact that she never actually forgets Neverland after leaving for 20 years suggests she may have always had a connection even while absent, and this might have prolonged the magic even further.
I think ultimately though, they just weren't relevant to the story being told. I don't know what if any major scenes were deleted from this film or never even filmed, but I'd guess the likelihood of finding a scene referencing the fate of Wendy's daughter would be higher than a scene detailing John and Michael. I think Wendy's daughter has a lot of indirect influence on the movie, but I don't think J and M have much to do with the story beyond their part in the originals. -

Yeah, but Peter Pan in Scarlet is not canon to Barrie's work. Neither is Hook. The only thing canon to Barrie's work is Peter Pan's NeverWorld.

My first thought is they aren't included because the story is about Wendy. They could have done more than the top and glasses and old teddy bear but I understand whey they weren't directly involved in the story.
