I think its pretty ironic, because her character in this is so much like her character in The Breakfast Club, because 1.) She's shy, and only talks when she needs to and 2.) She ordered vodka when she was at dinner with Danny and his mom [Allison in The Breakfast Club claimed to drink Vodka a lot]
Pretty weird if you ask me

The similarity in the two characters is that the character has an autism spectral disorder, most likely Asperger's Syndrome. 9 out of ten with this disorder are males, but girls get it too. I saw it once in a military unit. She had to be taught makeup, use of a tampon (no kidding), hair, and what a condom was. Apparently her mother was the same way and never taught her things most females learn early.

That's a really fascinating story, and it's indeed sad there are people who grapple with that kind of disorder, but I don't really think Ally Sheedy's character in this movie had autism or Asperger's. Maybe a serious case of shyness, but I think those two things are taking it a bit far.

Well, if she's not happy with it, then it's a problem to fix. If other people were telling her she needed to fix it, that's another story.

Just because someone hasn't been taught something, does not mean they are autistic. LOL
