-Drugstore Cowboy
-Trainspotting
-Rumble Fish(To those in-the-know Heroin plays a major role in the film on many levels.Although mentioned only a few times,Its a big part of the mystery to why "Motorcycle Boy" came back & what he found or didn't find in California)
-Pink Floyd: The Wall
-Barfly(Booze. & although Bukowski wasn't entirely happy w/the film & portrayal of his alter-ego Henry Chinaski,I thought Rourke was amazing & the film great.& Bukowski experienced enough Hollywod BS to churn out a novel about it"Hollywood"which is a great read)
-Grateful Dead:The Movie -

LIGHT SLEEPER - For God's sakes. Why has nobody thought of this one!
IN BRUGES - When Ray and Ken party with Little Jimmy on Chloe's stash !! heh heh.
THE CONNECTION : Made back in 1964. It's the best drug culture movie ever made.
THE COOL WORLD : More about gangs than drugs, but that's what they were up to.
BIRD - Clint Eastwood's biopic on the life of Charlie Parker
TRAFFIK - The original British made for TV flic (Not the remake which sucked).
HUMAN TRAFFIC: 1999 British film about the club scene and the drugs they take.
MONTGOMERY CLIFT : 1983 bio about "the longest suicide in Hollywood history."
PRIDE & GLORY : About the Heroin and crack epidemic in Washington Heights (Gritty)
I know I'm a bit older than most of the entrants to this discussion, so I hope someone, anyone - benefits from the enjoyment of watching The Connection and The Cool World (not Ralph Bakshi's animated movie, but Shirley Clarke's original).
The Connection was one of the "dopest" movies ever made and Shirley Clarke is #1.
