My reaction to this film was exactly like Richard Dreyfuss' character's reaction to Bill Murray's Bob. I cringed throughout this whole movie.

Jane I agree that this movie is cringeworthy and found Bob to be overstepping his doctor/patient boundaries over and over again. Why the rest of the characters were completely oblivious to this is annoying.

You know what? I sort of understand where you are coming from. There are moments here that I feel sorry for Leo because of the way Bob is pestering him and hanging around the place, but maybe the thing is this: Leo has his own issues. He wanted that interview to go off well and he felt that Bob distracted him too much and instead of just rolling with the punches, he got mad about it and blamed Bob. It's like when you count your chickens before they are hatched and you end up disappointed. I think Leo should've realized that Bob didn't mean any harm to him nor his family (he wasn't Max Cady in Cape Fear), but Leo kept a distance between himself and his patients. He was willing to talk to Bob on the phone at first, but then he also reminded him he was on vacation and that the other doctor can help him if this is really important. He did try to make that clear, but maybe he should've realized once Bob was there, maybe he could help him a bit in private (bend the rules for him since he really needed it and since he is trying, give him some points).
