I totally agree with you. It was hard to watch that episode, and it's even harder and more frustrating seeing her defending him on Twitter and trying to act like that was just a one time thing that he hasn't done since. I find that really hard to believe. Peter was displaying controlling and manipulative behaviors towards Jenn, and that's not something that just suddenly stops. I try not to be too upset with her because I was once in her shoes and stayed in a relationship where I was controlled and treated poorly. When people tried to tell me what was going on, I defended him as well. But now I know how to spot red flags from the beginning. It's just incredibly frustrating when everyone can see it so clearly and are just trying to make her see it too, but she won't listen.

Probably because women in messed up situations usually defend the dude or turn it around on you so it's better to stay out. Like when she starts going after the incest twins. My brother tried helping a woman he saw being abused in public and she turned on him instead. Nah, they have to figure that out for themselves and if they need help after making the choice, cool.

That happened to me in a park once. I offered to help a woman who was being abused, she had a child with her (the man was screaming at the boy too, full on crazy screaming. It just felt like violence was coming, like you could feel it in the air). She looked at me like I was a monster, gave me a dirty look and walked away. I should have just called the police. She wouldn't have taken their help either but it still bothers me that I didn't call them.

How can anyone say that the way he acts isn't abuse? It's pure 100% verbal abuse. His yelling wasn't the problem, it was the psychotic controlling and manipulative crap. How could people not see that? I don't understand. Someone doesn't have to be telling you you're fat, ugly and worthless to be verbally abusive. I actually think he's not just verbally abusive, he has all the signs of someone who will turn physically abusive. Criticizing the way she dances and who she can and can't be friends with are classic "paving the way" traits for someone who will be physically abusive. The way he twists her words and how he comes back the next day after being cruel the night before with flowers, breakfast in bed and lots of I'm sorries is actually terrifying. She needs to get the beep out of that situation stat.

Yess! Him telling her that she can't live with him if "she keeps being bad" like he was talking to a dog! And the sweet guy in the morning act was so classic, it almost felt scripted. The whole episode was like a long domestic abuse advertisement.
