Watched season 2 la yesterday and had seen it live too, and knew something was missing in the replay, but couldn't put my finger on it ha. The music! Of course. Still great.

It only took a couple of episodes to make Julie my favorite cast member of all time. She is so ridiculously nice and in a very genuine way. The camera gravitates to her all the time.

She was the perfect cast member. Open to experiences while still having a solid sense of identity.

I watched all 13 episodes.. season 1 is definitely the best. Julie's and Heather B's relationship was so sweet. Loved Norm and Andre. Eric was a cutie. Becky was moody lol and Kevin was hardly ever there lol. This cast was awesome. the last episode had me crying.. and then I was like wait,. they moved out 24 years ago. lol

I liked everybody in the cast except Kevin. It was probably better he wasn't around more since all he seemed to do was complain. Julie is my favorite but Heather was great too and the best episodes were with those two interacting. Great first season of the show; I made myself watch this to see how it all began but I'm not sure I can watch every season. I'll probably record them and kind of skim through unless a season really grabs me.

I thought Kevin proved himself to be a major league a$$ hole. I remember that fight with him and Julie outside, but I didn't remember him being quite so hostile. He was trying to piss her off, getting in her face and everything. And purposely making the arguement a "race thing." What a jackass.
God giveth and the DMV taketh away!

I love how Julie, the so-called "naive" one, more than holds her own against the ridiculous Kevin. She shoots down every argument he makes - and it's beautiful.

I recorded it and am watching it now and I absolutely love it! It's so real and natural and proves that you don't need manufactured drama and nonstop partying to get views. I would love if they filmed a new season how they filmed the first one.

I had never seen the first season of
                    The Real World
, and I only caught it by chance the other night when they were showing episode 9. Once I started watching, I couldn't take my eyes away. What a great show this used to be. I used to watch it occasionally in the early 2000s, when I was in high school and college, but by that time, I think it had become much more formulaic, with the cast members always fitting into a preset type (the crazy one, the alcoholic, the feminist, the gay guy, the extreme rightwinger). This first season was so low-key and natural by comparison. What a breath of fresh air, especially compared to what reality TV has become. This actually felt real! A real blast from the past that took me back to my childhood (the fashions, music, the PAY PHONES!).

I'm hoping to see at least seasons 6-9 available for streaming somewhere!!!
I absolutely love the mid-late 90's seasons! They're the best! I'd throw up until Chicago 2001 as the highest point of the show.
I really hope they air these and have them available somewhere on the internet 😞

SO happy they're playing all the old classic seasons again. Hopefully newer fans knows it's playing, so they can see just how good this once was, and maybe there'll be interest in trying to fix what's broken in all these new seasons. They seem like they're playing a season every week too! LA is on Sat, and San Francisco (must watch season to people who haven't seen it yet) is on a week after that. I got to make sure to start taping them in case this is short lived, and they start airing Jersey Shore marathons on this channel instead.

Watching San Fransico right now. Dam* this show was actually good and important at one time wasn't it? MTV should be kicked in the as* for what they did to it after Las Vegas.

San Francisco was great it just sucks MTV are playing the same seasons again instead of adding additional one.. So far they are just playing these over and over: San Francisco, Las Vegas (season 12), London, New York (original), LA, Denver, Key West and Hollywood. I have never seen Miami and I want to. I also want to see Seattle (first one), B2NY, Chicago, Hawaii, Boston and Brooklyn again
.. and they have only showed 2 seasons or Road Rules.. I want to see more of that too

I miss the days when the producers would have Puck randomly show up at a Real World or Road Rules reunion show just to stir the pot for a day or two before mysteriously leaving, but the story would be something like, "Puck just left, they tried to get to him stay, but he took off last night, said something about how he's done with this show." Ha.
