She definitely will work just fine.. she didn't make up her thinking out of thin air. Her whole town is secretly behind her.. she is a product of her environment. Most white towns in the south would be more than happy to employ her, especially after seeing her views portrayed on the show. I think the rest of the cast members will have a harder time being hired with the stripping and drunk antics.

She definitely referred to the black people that lie near her as colored. She laughed at a cotton picking joke and generalized POC of color which is ignorant AF.

Yeah, she shouldn't have laughed at the cotton joke and should have told her friend that it was messed up. That was the only blatantly racist thing that was said during the season, with a mixture of race baiting from the sjw roommates. Colored is outdated, though the NAACP still uses it for some reason.

It was more than just messed up though. It was racist. Her friend felt comfortable making that joke knowing she was being filmed. Imagine the beep they say in real life. It blows my mind that people act like that isn't a big deal. Laughing at a joke like that only showcased her ignorance. Calling someone colored is ignorant as well, there's a reason why people aren't referred to as colored anymore and it isn't because it's out dated, it's belittling and is a term that was used to divide.

I hear the phrase people of color used pretty often.

What's the point of changing the C in their name so many years later?

Why would they keep the colored word as part of their group name if it's considered to be so offensive? Various groups have changed parts of their names over the years with the times. It wouldn't make much sense for the word to be considered offensive only in certain circumstances.

Refer to a black person as colored and see their response. It's a demeaning term. That's why the signs out side of restaurants and stores said 'No Coloreds Allowed' in the 1960s. It's a term that is meant to divide.

Yeah, so if it's demeaning, then groups that still used colored as part of their name should change it. Otherwise, they are being hypocritical.

What does the organization have to do with anything and what do you mean if? You've completely ignored all of the points I've made. Black people (the people directly effected by the term) have stated time and time again that the term is offensive and demeaning. I don't get what's so hard for you to understand. The reason I'm not speaking on the NAACP is because I have no idea why they haven't changed the name and that's not what the initial conversation was about so, I can only assume you bringing it up is an attempt to distract from the topic at hand. And the NAACP is not a representative of all black people just because they use the word in their organization's title doesn't mean you get to ignore other black people's statements about it, and to my knowledge they don't refer to black people as colored.

lol @ an attempt to distract. Give the race baiting a break for one day. You're getting yourself worked up and might need to head to a safe space soon.

Oh yea I forgot in 2016 attempting to have a healthy dialogue is considered race baiting and sticking to the subject at hand is considered "getting worked up". I'm going to end the conversation here because it obviously isn't going anywhere. Just for the record I was not trying to argue with you, I know it's hard to tell over the internet. I'm just sharing my knowledge and experience especially when it comes to that word.
