It's well-known that the movie is supposed to be India or Pakistan, but it comes off as more Indian.
Anyways, Jasmine and Aladdin come off as Guyanans more than Indians. For one they don't have that stuck-up self-righteous "bro"-hating nature Indians have, like the guy wanting to cut Jasmine up for stealing. The arrogant "street rat" rants. Jafar being the asshole he is. On the contrary, Aladdin and Jasmine very ghetto. I can see Jasmine being the type to say "bro."
I can't speak for the Sultan too much. He can be very stuck up.
I've known Guyanans and while they're the same people as Indians, they're cooler and ghetto. Everything about Jasmine and Aladdin says Guyana and I've known people from Guyana they're like Jasmine and Aladdin. I've known girls like Jasmine, the ghetto, big earring-wearing types, who wear light blue jeans and Jordans and dress shirts, sometimes those shiny baseball caps that are filled with glitter. Cool sweet girls.
