Oh yeah I know that Aladdin wasn't in an official relationship with Jasmine at the time, but still, it rubs me the wrong way. You will miss it if you blink, he had no idea if he would even see Jasmine again, and that girl wasn't real anyway. But still, it's not what you would expect from a Disney movie.

Yeah, but by the Cave of Wonders, he was under the impression that she was some shallow girl who would never like him since he wasn't a prince anyways. So, of course, he would go attempting to kiss another girl. And since she was dumb enough to not realize who he was when he was trying to talk to her before the carpet ride, she technically did what you claim he almost did.
