I also love Jane; she's an extremely under-appreciated Disney heroine, in my opinion. But then again, I think Tarzan itself is underrated, considering its stunning animation and moving soundtrack. Not to mention the theme of fitting in where you don't belong, which I believe was portrayed perfectly, especially since it's a children's movie.

I think Tarzan is a great movie. It got a lot of appreciation when it was just released, but it has become less over the years for some reason. A simple but effective story, a good plot, fantastic animation, likeable characters and even though it's not my favourite soundtrack, I still like it. Maybe some people can't stand Phil Collins, I'm not his biggest fan either, to be honest.

I watched Tarzan when I was younger, but didn't realize that Phil Collins did the soundtrack until later on. For this reason, I have no reason to dislike him! His work in Brother Bear is equally as beautiful. Personally, I think that the soundtrack makes us for much of the story in Tarzan and acts as a narrator - it's gorgeous music.

I think so as well. I love BATB too, i love Belle and as a child i had a weird crush on the beast (LOL, ikr).
But i agree with you:- The humor in Aladdin is make me laugh more than any other disney princess movies (except Mulan, Mulan and Mushu are the most hillarious!) Genie makes me laugh like 20 times throughout the movie.
- I personally think the songs in Aladdin are the second best (the best in my opinion is Pocahontas) followed by Frozen. (what i mean here is the overall songs, not only one main song and the other are rather bland. the songs in aladdin, frozen and pocahontas are all enjoyable.)
- The relationship of Aladdin and Jasmine is one of what i found so real and intense and mature and so relatable. So romantic and its like i almost can feel like Jasmine towards Aladdin!
- Aladdin is my all time favorite disney prince, he's so cute, kind, sweet, and the character development is so great

I couldn't agree with you more! Aha, don't worry, lots of people had a crush on the Beast.
- The humor is great! The Genie is perhaps one of Disney's greatest comical creations. Mulan is also hilarious.
- Aladdin has my favourite soundtrack, followed by Frozen. Pocahontas has beautiful songs, as well. I especially love "colours of the wind"; it's one of my favourite Disney songs.
- Their relationship is the most realistic of all the Disney Princess/Prince couples. They just mesh so well together! But, my favourite couples of Kristoff x Anna and Rapunzel x Eugene.
- He's my second favourite, after Kristoff. But, I completely agree with you that he's extremely cute and kind! He's willing to do anything to protect his friends and Jasmine, of course.

I could not agree with this more. The Genie is my favorite comic relief character in all of fiction. In my personal opinion he is the epitome of a comic relief character done right:
- He's a well-written character first, comic relief second. Despite being a comic relief character the Genie actually has a storyline in the movie. He also had an equal amount of moments in the movie where he was non-comedic, serious, and/or heartfelt in balance with all of his comedic moments.
- He's genuinely funny. Comedy can be a hard thing to write sometimes because sometimes writers write jokes that are intentionally supposed to be funny, but they wind up coming off as unfunny and/or corny. Or in the opposite case there can be non-comedic moments with the character that wind up being unintentionally funny, which was never the writers purpose to begin with at all. With Genie you're laughing with the character, not at the character. He makes jokes that are intentionally supposed to be funny, and you're genuinely laughing at those jokes like you're supposed to.
- He's not an annoying or obnoxious comic relief character. This is really my main problem with a majority of comic relief characters in fiction in general. It's why I didn't like Timon and Pumbaa from "The Lion King" for example, or Batty (ironically also played by Robin Williams) from "Ferngully".
- The humor is great! The Genie is perhaps one of Disney's greatest comical creations.

You're so right! The Genie is capable of being hilarious, without coming across as obnoxious. Only a few comedy relief characters are able to pull off the amount of screen time he has without being annoying

I'm with you.
Aladdin
was certainly a game changer that's for sure! Aladdin was the first animated film to do the whole "Pop culture in-jokes" thing, and it did it/pulled it off
very well
without detracting from the story at all. Also after Robin Williams' excellent performance in Aladdin, it now became a thing for big celebrities (especially comedians) to crossover & do voiceover work for animated films.
Aladdin, IMHO, was the first Disney animated film to effectively blend a genuinely heartfelt story & comedy together, and no other character encapsulates that better than the Genie. Seriously Genie's character (and character arc) epitomize genuinely heartfelt & comedy. -

I don't know. I think Disney's best films are Pinocchio and Beauty & the Beast, though both have their flaws. The real genre busting achievement came in 2001 when Hayao Miyazaki released Spirited Away, a film brimming with philosophical ambitions, followed by Pixar's masterpiece Wall-E, both of which are amongst the strongest films of the 21st century.

favourite
Disney movie, but I am able to respect it. Beauty and the Beast is just your average DP flick; it's charming, but nothing special against others such as Cinderella, The Little Mermaid and Tangled. That's just me. As for Spirited Away I agree wholeheartedly when you say that it's one of the strongest films of the 21st century, let alone one of the strongest
animated
films. Walle-E was also spectacular, though not as impressive. Despite all of this, Disney still stands out against any other animation company for me. Nothing beats the magic of Walt Disney. -

I love both films but I have to disagree with most of the people hereBeauty and the Beast is just on another level. First of all, I do love Robin as the genie but B&TB just has a more timeless feel, like an old fashioned fairy tale. I also feel it is a darker movie than this one, in terms of atmosphere, colo palette and the story itself. It has more emotional variance and depth than Aladdin. Both are brilliant pinnacles of animation and are close to one another in terms of quality, along with The Little Mermaid, but to me its like this

The Lion King is probably on the same level to me as Beauty and the Beast. -

I personally prefer beauty and the beast, i find the characters and story more interesting, and I love the songs, especially be Our Guest. however, Aladdin is my oldest son's favourite Disney film. He adored it when i took him to see it, but was only lukewarm about beauty and the beast. Both of us were left cold by Frozen.
