The Lt.
dies for the boys' sins in a way. Is there an analogy between the Lt. and Jesus?
He does have his own sins though.
The church leitmotiv is pretty strong in the movie, and
the line "he [Jesus] died for our sins" gets dropped in close to the end.
Could one say there's a such analogy or should one look at the finale as the
catharsis of his tragedy
, unrelated to any analogy as just the good old Aristotelian poetic tool? Of course the tool still applies for the analogy as well.
