When she finds out that her son died "because her husband was cheating on her".One of the most heartbreaking scenes i've ever seen.I litteraly had a breakdown myself. What an amazing actress!!!

Avery compelling, powerful scence. I have always thought Miranda Richardson a top actress.

Her Academy Award nomination was definitely well deserved. That scene contains some of the best acting I've ever seen.

I agree, she stole the film.
Why hasn't she won an Oscar yet? She better be nominated next year for Made in Dagenham.
I own the Jelena Jankovic board

There are very few scenes that are so powerful and so perfectly acted that they are truly unforgettable.
This scene and the scene in Dangerous Liaisons where the Marquise walks out of the booing theatre and then removes her makeup with a look of self loathing are the only two I can remember at the moment.
"The Horseman comes and tonight he comes for you!" (Lady Van Tassel, Sleepy Hollow)

I wasn't aware Miranda Richardson uncannily took over from Glenn Close in DL.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?

This was the only stand-out moment of the film for me. She was superb but the rest of it just did almost nothing for me..
