Why do I like Housesitter?

I like Frank Oz movies. It goes against everything else I really like. Housesitter is a perfect example of a movie that, for some reason, I can watch over and over again. I don't know if it is a numbing effect or if I really do like the movie. It's sort of embarrassing to look at my movie collection (really top drawer), and then see Housesitter in the middle of it. I think it's just enjoyment. I enjoy, in some deep and mysterious fundamental sense, watching Housesitter. I won't try to defend myself or otherwise, I just somehow have always liked this movie. Fire at will, I'm practically begging for ridicule in saying so. Go ahead, I can take it.

I had read that the house that Martin builds for Dana Delaney and that he finds Goldie Hawn living inwas built just for the film and was taken down after filming was completed.I'd still wanna go to the different areas that the movie was made in just to see all of that beautiful scenery that was used in the film.It is such a beautiful film that it looks like a world that's too wonderful to exist.

Other Jennifer, me too! I love to bake, and this is one of those movies that I just let play while I work. It is so charming. Obviously it is not Oscar material, but it doesn't need to be. It makes me feel good. Other movies like that for me: My Fellow Americans, Death Becomes Her, and Princess Bride.

What's not to like about this? It's funny, it's upbeat, it's engaging, it's bright, it's fresh. Everybody in it seems to be having a good time; the comedy is a perfect combination of sharp and warm. It's one of those movies that when somebody says, "They don't make 'em like they used to," you say, "Try this."

Isn't "discussion" the good, the bad, and the ugly of a movie?
If it were only positive material, it would be "Movie Promotion Message Board".
If someone says, "This part was subpar. They should have done it this way." can be considered positive to some and negative to those (with a thin skin). ("Mom! He's staring at me!")
