John Mahoney, the actor who played Martin died.
Martin did not die on the show, but after all these years, it would be understandable if the character passed away as well. That would most likely be established in the new show.

I can believe it. I always thought he'd be good in a courtroom drama. I would have enjoyed him as a prosecutor up against Raymond Burr in a Parry Mason episode.
