It's on tv again and I just can't find it funny like I used to. Unlike Seinfeld, which still is hilarious, this has aged fairly badly.
To me, it just smacks as a poor mans I Love Lucy, or a "Jewish" I Love Lucy.
And I can't help but think that Fran and Niles are incredibly unprofessional for service staff.
Plus the audience is out of control. Was it a five drink minimum to be in the audience? They laugh at stuff that is mildly funny at best as though its Eddie Murphy doing standup. -

To each their own, I suppose. I don't find Seinfeld terribly funny but there are several episodes of The Nanny that make me laugh out loud, even on repeat viewings.

a few months ago. i did a the nanny marathon. i haven't watched the nanny since it aired on tv so maybe 15 yrs since i last watched it.
when i did the nanny marathon a few months ago. i enjoyed it Alot. i forgot how funny the show was and it was a lot more funnier than i remember. i was in stitches during some episodes. Completely forgot how funny this show was so i disagree with you. i think the show is still funny.
I think what dates the show is fran's clothing. Don't get me wrong. I do think the clothing suits her cos she could make anything look fantastic but i can't imagine anyone past 1995 wearing clothes like that. lol -

There are shows that I have outgrown. I don't watch the Nanny often, but when I do it turns into a marathon and I laugh out loud during every episode. I do think the acting isn't always up to par, but the jokes are still funny to me, and I think Fran and Max are cute, and Niles and CC are hilarious. The four of them are all funny in their own way.
