What a bizarre set-up. Couldn't Hooper have had another to match Carpenter's pair? Most proper anthologies have more than 3 stories. Why was he even brought on board to direct one segment? Why didn't JC just film the last one himself?
Wes Craven and Sam Raimi were on hand to make cameos. Couldn't one (or both) contribute a tale? Call up Romero and see if he's interested. This would have been the perfect commemoration to and by the big names in horror circa the late 70s/early 80s.

Hooper already has the worst segment in the entire film. You want to give him another one?

I'm grateful Tobe Hooper didn't have an opportunity to tank this movie any further than he had already done with the weakest link in the three stories. Tobe Hooper is very over rated director , in my opinion.
Add to that the "Eye" segment was very anti-Christian in it's message.

"Body Bags" started out as a TV series for Showtime. Three episodes were made as a test run. Showtime liked it, but wanted to cut the budget even lower and move production to Canada. Carpenter thought the lower budget would reduce the quality, while the relocation would take away their ability to fill cameos and other roles with familiar horror faces, since they all lived in L.A. and could easily show up for just a couple hours or a day to film small parts. So Showtime cancelled the show and just combined the three episodes produced to form an anthology movie.
The Blu-ray released in 2013 by Scream Factory includes a nice little featurette talking about the history of the project. Showtime basically ruined the whole idea themselves. Could have been a neat little series.
