it's a DVD/blu-ray combo but iamsondecannedbread since blu-ray players are getting cheaper at wal-marts and targets for 100 bucks, consider getting one and if you have a HD tv and a HD connector then you'd be in high def heaven. Yet the best blu-ray to start off with is Jaws and that has better picture than ever before as it is so excellent looking you think it was filmed last year and the sound is great yet also has the original mono too and some BD exclusives as it's the best one to start off with and some of Shout's other blu-rays.
Also check out Horrorhound's blu-ray buyers guide on what Blus to buy and what to avoid.

I love Scream factory. They've been releasing quality Blu rays of some of my favorite 80's horror movies for months now.Besides this their also releasing Blu rays of Assault on precinct 13,the Horror show and Night of the comet in November.I've already pre-ordered all 4 movies.I'm always checking Amazon for upcoming releases from them.
