Thats a good point. Henry would have been alive, but in the best case senario he's locked up for the rest of his life. Not much worth saving about that.
Though I do think most normal mothers would instinctively want to save their child, no matter what they'd done.
Please consider me as an alternative to suicide -

Henry. He would have killed Susan later on anyway if she dropped Mark instead. Henry probably couldn't have been helped mentally anyway, spending the rest of his life in a nut house. Plus, Mark saved her life from the rock hitting her, and if Henry wasn't bluffing, saved the family from the poisoned food in the middle of the night. Mark saved her life, so she should have saved his.

I don't think that a sane person could choose to save Macaulay Culkin at the expense of another child. The boy was a freak as a child, and has only become worse as he grew up. He was well cast for this role.

Everybody thinks their child is a darling little perfect angel. Given all that she knew I'm surprised she even had to think about it.
