Has anyone read the book that it was based on?
I would just like to clarify what is true and what is not. I understand the Jim Sheridan did take some artistic license with the story but would just like to know about the actual events, as described by Gerry Conlon.
I do not wish to hear from anyone who wishes to have a political discussion. I do not care to discuss the balance or imbalance of the film. I simply want to know what Gerry Conlon wrote.

I just got done reading it. It is pretty consistent with the book except they combined some of the police characters and the court scene in the movie is totally fabricated. In real life, it was a lot less dramatic and the decision had already been made to release them before Conlon even got to the court. Really good book though.

Very good, yet disturbing at times
