Well, we can see what happened to Woody Harrelson's friend in that bowling movie (co-starring Randy Quaid) - in a daydream sequence, he imagines that Chris Elliot's character offers him one million dollars to sleep with Randy Q and he does

- I'd want to see the money.
- I get the money first, and check it to make sure its legit
- Sneak in and knock the guy out before he can even touch my wife and we get the hell out of dodge, 1 millon dollars richer!!!
Thats what Woody SHOULD'VE done! LOL

Thing is that Gage had deeper intentions and wanted to steel her away. The million dollar night was just simply a way to get her alone before she was out of his life forever.
And I know that anyman willing to pay 1,000,000 dollars to sleep with my wife isn't just looking for sex. He could get that at the Bunny Ranch for much cheaper. Knowing he doesn't want just sex, I'd say eff him with an emphasis on eff.
Gage actually really pissed me off in this movie.. -

I recently saw the movie and I came here to see if people asked the question if they would do it?
What about the wives here? Would they agree to sleep with a man for a million dollars especially if he was romantic prince charming with a twisted mind in this movieRedford?
Would they say no like the couple first did? But what if the guy wasn't making a bad joke, and was dead serious? And the guy was extremely rich and better at sex?
Would you leave your husband for a rich, romantic stud who keeps telling you your'e the prettist thing he ever saw? -

the real dope here is John Gage. in prostitution the client always gets ripped off. men are desperate enough to pay for sex and women simply take advantage of that to make a living.
but to answer your question no, i wouldn't do it. i wish i could, but the thought of another dudes weener in my broads mouth would torment me to the point of frenzy. -

The concept of "ownership" in this sense is entirely subjective. Sex does not imply ownership, nor does taking money from someone - this is only my perspective, though, of course. (Although several people posted that they wouldn't "sell" their wife, which certainly implies ownership of some sort)
I think an interesting question, for those of you who might be tempted, is to envision Mike Myers's character "Fat B@stard" from the Austin Powers movie as a real human being - extremely unattractive, smelly, loud, perpetually sweaty and worst of all, incredibly rude. Would you have sex with him for a million? -

This movie is 20 years old, so no - not for a million dollars.
If you were to increase it to today's prices (I'm going to say 10 million), then we can talk.
BTW - the original premise from the OP should say "would you let your spouse sleep with someone for a lot of money" - not "would you let your wife".
i think it would also depend on the circumstances - I mean, obviously, the guy would need to first get a clean bill of health from a doctor, wear protection while he did it, be discrete about it, establish a safeword (this doesn't include doing stuff against anyone's will), well established boundaries of what's acceptable, etc.
