OK, if we're talking about underrated 90's films, I think I'm coming up with some titles:

      • Bad Influence
      • Deep Cover
      • Arlington Road
      • Primal Fear
Wait a minute who am I here?

Actually I haven't seen most of those - have heard of a few.
I'll add them to my 'to watch' list.
And yeah, Deep Cover is an
          excellent
film. Goldblum and Laurence Fishburne have incredible chemistry in that. And Gregory Sierra plays a great villain.
Wait a minute who am I here?

People don't like slow pacing movies, people like huge explosions, gun shots, lots of gore and boobs.
This is a thinking person's movie. Most people don't use their brain anymore.

I gave it a 7/10. The current rating is 6.3. That's above average as far as IMDb ratings go. Half of the movies in the top 250 have an 8.0-8.2 rating.

I have noticed that too. When I look at my ratings history, I see that most of my ratings are between 7 and 9, and I wonder "Am I being too generous?"
Then I thought about it and realized, when we decide to see a movie, we tend to be very selective in what we want to spend our 1.5 - 2.0 hours doing. This is especially true for those that we go to the theater to see, since typically that is much more expensive, and we want to make sure we're getting a good value for our investment, in both time and money.
So we are more likely to pick a movie that we will enjoy, hence give a higher rating afterwards. Of course, sometimes we're wrong and we hate a movie we thought we would like, or we were forced to watch it by a friend/family member. But I generally choose carefully what I'm going to watch, and my rule of thumb is that if the average rating on IMDb is less than 7.0, I will usually skip that one.

Something about these similar (not all of them) 90's thrillers you just can't get enough of, huh? They're not all great films, including Malice, but they're fun and really memorable. Is Malice underrated? Perhaps to some fans.
Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

I love this movie, I have ever since it came out. I think it's extremely underrated. It's one of those movies that I could watch all the time, it's definitely on my guilty pleasure list along with:
                      Presumed Innocent
                      Basic Instinct
                      Hackers
                      The Saint
                      Poolhall Junkies
                      Kelly's Heroes
                      What Love Is
                      Starship Troopers
                      Krull
                      Point Break
                      Thief
                      Risky Business
                      Point of no Return
                      Scream
                      The Pelican Brief
                      Sleeping with the Enemy
& another underrated 90s movie King of New York with Christopher Walken.
The 90s were a great decade for movies, I think the 80s and 90s had the best movies. I've been going back and watching so many from the 90s that I missed and many that I've seen already multiple times and they are so underrated. Great great decade.
