No problem. What isn't clear is, if you talk about somebody's mom, should he kill you, or should he kill your mom ? You know, for you to get the message ?

It's funny how, 7 years after this post, The Zimmerman thing happened.

I don't but at the same time I do. First, I didn't because of the way the store owner and his wife treated Caine and O Dog as customers. These two people are patronizing your business, you can't treat customers that way. Telling them to hurry up and buy. The store owner didn't have to say one word to them. Just let them buy their beer so they can leave. But naw he said "I don't want any trouble, just get out! I feel sorry for your mother!" Now I do feel sorry for them because no one deserves to be killed like that over mere words. All in all both parties were wrong.

Yes and No. Should O-Dog have murdered them, absolutely not. However, the male store owner was very out of line for what he said to O-Dog. All he had to do was wait for them to leave, then talk crap about them once they were gone. You never know how someone is going to react to that kind of statement. You should never talk about a man's family unless you're ready to accept the reprocussions for that statement. Also, racial profiling isn't ok. It's never ok.

I really didn't feel bad for them. They were very racist.

I didn't like that fact that they were racist and I
it's a toss up about my feelings about them getting
                killed because back in the day (early 90's);
I think this happened in New York; a young
Black Girl was being followed around in
a Korean owned store and I don't know if
she stole the Orange Juice or not but in
any event; even if she did; the Korean
Lady shouldn't have never shot the girl
                in the back!
                Does anyone remember this story?
Back in the late 80's, early 90's
Blacks and Koreans were having major
                problems; mainly becaused they
owned the stores and as always,
Black People are the ones buying
and they would treat the Black
People like shyt and follow them
                around and falsely accuse them
                of stealing
When the Korean Guy told O-Dog
in the movie: "I feel sorry for
your mother!" I knew it was
ON then and I was like DAMN,
that's what they get but of
course the other side of me
                feels bad when anyone looses
                their life under any
                circumstances
                Best,
                Miss. T

I read this case in law school. The Korean owner was a little more justified in the sense that the black customer had beaten the owner severely and I think the owner retaliated merely out of rage. However, the girl didn't deserve to die but the owner's actions were understandable.

That scene is by far the most unrealistic of the entire movie - powerful, yes, but if you think that would happen in real life, you're playing yourself.
First of all, no Korean store owner with his sanity intact would have said what he said in friggin' ENGLISH - he would've resorted to his native tongue and let the dude walk off. I mean, come onif those two cats LOOK dangerous, you aren't going to provoke them unless you're really THAT stupid, in which case you deserve a Darwin award for subtracting yourself outta the gene pool.
Second, even someone as crazy as O Dogg would be equally foolish to act that imposing in real lifeplease believe the blacks and eses know that every Korean convenience store owner in L.A. keeps a loaded firearm hidden under the counter. In real life, O Dogg would never have even thought twice about acting threatening that way because the moment he did that, chances would be about 90% he'd have a shotgun barrel to his chest and a finger on the trigger before the thought of reaching for his Glock entered his mind. When the black dudes rob the Korean stores, they go in with guns drawn immediately (and usually, 3-4 strong) cause they know that if they aren't quick, they're gonna get shot at.
So, to make a long story short, what happened in that scene would never have happened in real lifeEVER. Korean guy would have a gun, O Dogg would have a gun, but since that puts them at even odds, both would go about their business even IF there was noticeable animosity between them for fear of provoking the other.

He was referring the two asian grocers because of the way the lady kept following him around, thinking he was going to steal something.

That doesn't justify murder..at the most, curse him out..but shooting the man and his wife dead in their own store is ridiculous, then later, glorifying it by watching the tape and talking about selling it..

Oh man, I was hoping for both of them to go Jail the entire movie. I was pissed that Kevin, aka "o-boy", wasn't the one who got shot. And they had every right to follow them around. They were thugs! Poor grocer, just trying to make a life for himself. And was O-boy the same kid from power rangers?

its o-dog not o-boy and i thought he was the black power ranger from the original series also when i saw the cover but it isnt thats walter jones that played the back power ranger.. and larenz tate plays o-dog.. and the store owner guy shouldnt have said anythin bout his mom because alot of ppl get offensive over that and o-dog is crazy so he just doesnt give a beep but i do feel bad for the wife.

O-Dog was an evil dude, but that didn't give him a right to murder the two korean grocerers. At most, he coulda cussed them out, and maybe pushed them, or something.
Also, MISS T, the owner's actions in shooting the little girl was NOT right at all. I don't care if she got beaten by a black man. She probably got beaten by a black man because she was getting on his nerves.

It was the korean store managers that got a beat up by a black man (i'm not talking about the movie, i'm talking about a situation that happened in 1991)
