He was referring the two asian grocers because of the way the lady kept following him around, thinking he was going to steal something.

That doesn't justify murder..at the most, curse him out..but shooting the man and his wife dead in their own store is ridiculous, then later, glorifying it by watching the tape and talking about selling it..

Oh man, I was hoping for both of them to go Jail the entire movie. I was pissed that Kevin, aka "o-boy", wasn't the one who got shot. And they had every right to follow them around. They were thugs! Poor grocer, just trying to make a life for himself. And was O-boy the same kid from power rangers?

its o-dog not o-boy and i thought he was the black power ranger from the original series also when i saw the cover but it isnt thats walter jones that played the back power ranger.. and larenz tate plays o-dog.. and the store owner guy shouldnt have said anythin bout his mom because alot of ppl get offensive over that and o-dog is crazy so he just doesnt give a beep but i do feel bad for the wife.

O-Dog was an evil dude, but that didn't give him a right to murder the two korean grocerers. At most, he coulda cussed them out, and maybe pushed them, or something.
Also, MISS T, the owner's actions in shooting the little girl was NOT right at all. I don't care if she got beaten by a black man. She probably got beaten by a black man because she was getting on his nerves.

It was the korean store managers that got a beat up by a black man (i'm not talking about the movie, i'm talking about a situation that happened in 1991)

I read this case in law school. The Korean owner was a little more justified in the sense that the black customer had beaten the owner severely and I think the owner retaliated merely out of rage. However, the girl didn't deserve to die but the owner's actions were understandable.>>>>>>
You are not telling the whole story.
The girl had a bottle of $1.99 orange juice. The owner thought she was going to steal it and GRABBED the girl. The girl became enraged and slapped the owner several times. Then the owner grabbed the gun as the girl was LEAVING the store and shot her in the back of the head. The bitch should have gotten prison time, but she only got charged with involuntary manslaughter and got probation.

I didn't feel anything when the Koreans were shot in the story. Not condoning it, but I just didn't care for them. Alot of them take for granted their customers, they need to respect their customers because without them, they would be back in riceboats and starving.

the store owner deserved a punch in the face maybe, but NOT death! the store owner was probably many times a victim of robbery too, which is why he chose to keep his eye on them, but he was acting like kind of a dick too. i think o-dogg shoulda just punched him, not shot him

                            riceboats? starving?
South Korea is hardly a 3rd world country, do a little research before running your mouth off like that.
Also I'm surprised nobody has brought up the LA riots and the millions of dollars in damages Korean store owners suffered at the hands of black people.
After something like that, it's no wonder Koreans don't trust blacks anymore.

I must say that it is indeed quite pathetic to accuse the shop owners of racism when it turned their suspicions about their character were right all along.
(Even more so as they were not only thieves but murderers as well).

No, it was clearly a racial slur. "You people" is a fairly problematic phrase. It's open to interpretation, I suppose. But, given the themes present in the film, it's almost certainly a slur.

Right, the scene is all about allegory (for racial tension) and the introduction of O-dog (psychopath) and Caine (spineless joiner).

I too studied this case in my first year Criminal Law class in law school. It involved the slaying of Latasha Harlins, a 15 year old, black, HONOR STUDENT in Los Angeles, CA.
Latasha and a friend walked into a store owned by a Korean family by the name of Du. In prior months, the Du's had been victims of shoplifting and robberies by the local chapter of the Crips. Their son, who occasionally worked at the store, once ID'd a crip member in a line-up, and was thus targeted for retaliation by the crips.
Out of concern for his safety, the Du's reached out with a cash settlement offer to the crips in exchange for his safety. AND, Mr. Du bought a modified .38 caliber revolver.
NOTE: The gun had been modified so that it basically had a 'hair-trigger'. This means that a far less forceful squeeze was required to fire the gunthus making it ILLEGAL to own in CA.
                                          BACK to Latasha:
Latasha was wearing a backpack. She walked to the cooler, grabbed a bottle of OJ, and stuck it in her backpack. NOTE: she had 2 one dollar bills clutched in her right hand the whole time.
Mrs. Du, who was working instead of her son, saw Latasha put the OJ in her backpack, walked up to her and demanded that Latasha give it backwhile Latasha was on her way up the aisle leading to the register no less. Latasha retorted angrily, "WHAT JUICE?!!?", and Du accused her of stealing.
Du started to scuffle with Latasha in an attempt to grab the OJ. Latasha punched Du in the face at least twice, knocking Du down each time. Du ran behind the counter and grabbed her ILLEGAL firearm. She pointed it at Latasha.
At this point, Latasha put down the OJ on the counter and started to walk outher 2 dollars still in her handDu raised the gun, pointing to the back of the girl's head, and blew away a bona-fide honor student-athlete over a bottle of OJ.
Du was sentenced (manslaughter) to 10 years, and the judge (a white woman) suspended the sentenceDu never served day one of her sentence.
Those are the facts of the case. You decide. The people of CA decidedthey lobbied and protested the sentence so much that the stupid judge was removed from the benchunfortunately the murderous Du went free.
MY PERSONAL OPINION: the problem with Middle-Eastern, Indian, Pakistani and Asian store owners is that they come from countries where social castes are not only acceptable, but are sometimes the law
When they arrive here, their friends and relatives who have been here a while tell them that blacks are the lowest man on the totem pole and aren't worth much. (NOTE: I DO NOT AGREE NOR CONDONE THIS BELIEF) ..but that's why tragedies-like the one that befell Latasha Harlins-occurhmmm.
