O-Dawg is a merciless thug who kills people. Jake is a darker version in that he kills people for diabolical reasons.
The tone of this movie was very gritty and very New Yorkish (though it is a West Coast movie) anyone get that vibe? -

Not really. Imo at least, the scenery was very west coast to me. from the palm trees to the way they talked. Mc Eith with his jheri curl. The essaes. It seemed very California like to me.
