Transgendered people are also not any more rapists or child molesters than any other person, so there's no reason to fear them at all.
You don't get it, do you? It's about 12 year old boy who finds out his elderly woman nanny is NOT a woman, ergo everything she said is a lie, ergo whatever it is, could be dangerous.

Because it was 1993, not 2016, and he was a kid. Transgenders weren't the "hip" thing at the time. He also wasn't sorry that he just assumed Mrs. Doubtfire's gender.

It would be (and still is Illegal) for man to dress as a woman in order to get a job (pretending to be a woman). Especially looking after children.
