    .Nobody noticed this little slip up in writing.
    When Daniel is at the door saying goodbye to his kids and Chris mumbles that the whole divorce was his fault, Daniel asks why, and he says;
    "I should have never had a birthday."
    Not birthday partybut birthday. As in birthday in general.
    The writers forgot to proofread that part of the script before production, but it made it to the final script anyway. It helps that Chris was just barely audible with all of his linesexcept when he was running out of the bathroom. That's the closest he comes to shouting through the whole movie, but even that was slightly muted. Everybody had a birthdayyou get one almost by default. Everybody is born of a mother with the love of a father, after nine months are up, the baby that is everybody comes out, and on that day is your birthdaywell, everybody knows that!
    It is impossible to be born and not have a birthday, whether you're conceived in the usual way or not and don't worry, I'm not going to get into where babies come fromI just gave you all a quick anatomy lesson along with this blooper. Also lays to rest the eternal debate what came first, chicken or egg; the egg came first!
    Chris says, "I should have never had a birthday."
    The closed captions read: "I should have never had a birthday."
    The subtitles read: "I should have never had a birthday."
    Those who never had a birthday, they were never born. On the other hand, they had never died either. They were never born, never existed. You need a birthday to be able to exist.

      Seriously
      ? He was an emotional kid making an overwrought statement because he felt guilty. His dad knew what he meant, and so did the audience. Come on, now, was all that necessary?

          I am sure that in Chris' mind that he is blaming himself just like an children of parents that get divorced do believe that it is their fault their parents got a divorce. And I have to believe that Chris is feeling that if he was not even born that his parents would not have gotten divorced. As are times that marriages can go sour and married couple can't stand each other or at least one can't stand the other one anymore. I don't think that Daniel didn't want to get a divorce at all.

            That's what Chris meant. It wasn't a slip up. Chris blames himself, not his party.
            Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.
